--------- Kidd, Mrs. Earle W. (? - 24 MAY 1930)

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Christ Church Cathedral, Eau Claire, for Mrs. Earle W. Kidd, whose death occurred in that city shortly before three o'clock Saturday afternoon. She had been a patient at Luther Hospital in that city since the first of January.

Mrs. Kidd was one of the most prominent of Owen, Clark County, Wis. women, and for the past six years had been president of the Board of Education, and was an active worker in St. Katherine's Church, of which she was a member. Her death was due to sub-acute Endocarditis, a comparatively rare blood disease. Her illness began early in December, but it was not until in January that her doctors advised hospital treatment. When her disease was known all that medical science could do was done for her, but so rare was her case that she did not respond to treatment.

Mrs. Kidd was born in Eau Claire, and her early life was spent in that city. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Elliott, and was united in marriage to her husband seventeen years ago, and since then has made Owen her home.

Funeral services were conducted from Christ Church Cathedral, the Right Rev. Bishop Frank E. Wilson officiating, and being assisted by Dean Hoag, Eau Claire, Rev. W. F. Taylor, Ripon, Rev. Claude Reader, Lexington, Ky., and Rev. Guy D. Christian, Owen.

Besides her husband and one daughter, Nancy, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. H. M. Elliott of Owen; two brothers, J. W. Elliott of the Crystal Springs Lumber Co., Hot Springs, Ark.; Clare Elliott of Stevens Point, Wis.; and one sister, Mrs. T. H. Wylie, Eau Claire, and numerous other relatives. The pallbearers were D. R. Moon and G. W. LaPointe, Menomonie, G. E. Porter, Lake Forest, Ill., Burford Porter, Chicago, A. R. Owen and G. E. Anderson, Owen, J. G. Owen, S. R. Davis and W. L. Davis, Eau Claire.

At ten o'clock Monday morning a requiem high mass was held at St. Katherine's Church, the Rev. Father G. D. Christian officiating, and the church was filled to capacity for this service, showing the high esteem in which Mrs. Kidd was held in the community. In her passing, Owen has lost a valuable citizen, and a friends whose worthy work was far reaching.

Burial rites took place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire, her former home.
