Frank Elmer Bradbury died July 10 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nyle Benedict, Town of York. Interment took place Sunday at York Center. Mr. Bradbury was born June 23, 1861, at Granklin Grove, Ill., to Josiah and Mindwell Proctor Bradbury, who were of Pilgrim ancestry and came to the west from Lewiston, Me. The father, Josiah, was a Union soldier in the Civil war, was wounded at Gettysburg and died when his son was very young. Frank was the youngest of eleven children. The family, with its head gone, moved to State Center, Iowa. There Frank Bradbury grew to the age of 18. Then he became a cowboy in western Nebraska. Then he married (Esther) Rounseville Bort and took up a homestead in the sand hills of Cherry County, Nebraska. Due to ill health, the Bradburys moved to the Ozark Mountains, Missouri. After four years, they returned to Nebraska where Mr. Bradbury was foreman on a large cattle ranch. It was after these varying activities that Mr. And Mrs. Bradbury and Aura came to York Center. Here he farmed a few years, but the failing health of both Mr. And Mrs. Bradbury occasioned the sale of the farm. Mr. Bradbury had a stroke and was helpless. So the care of both of them fell to Mrs. Nyle Benedict, who, with the help of her husband, has given them the closest care and attention. Mr. Bradbury leaves his wife; a son, Miles of South Pekin, Ill., two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Miller, Biddle, Mont., and Aura, Mrs. Nyle Benedict; five grandchildren, Vern Bradbury, Betty and Baby Miller and Donald and Georgia Mae Benedict. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the home in consideration of Mrs. Bradbury, who can not get about. There was a large crowd of neighbors and friends. Pallbearers were Jess Mortimer, Ed Voight, Roy Lawrence, Carl Sisco, Emil Korth and Will Benedict. The Rev. G. W. Longenecker of Neillsville preached the sermon. The singers were Mrs. Walter Rowe, Mrs. Jesse Mortimer, Mrs. Bert Walker and Jim Young. Friends from away who attended the funeral were Mr. And Mrs. Ben Trowbridge and Mrs. Baddelmeyer of Milwaukee; Mr. And Mrs. Marvin Putman of West Bend; Mr. And Mrs. Arthur Adams of Hayward; Olive Trowbridge of Plymouth; Mrs. Hattie Kier of Neillsville and Dan Drescher and his mother of Pleasant Ridge; Mr. And Mrs. William Eden of Granton and Mr. And Mrs. Donald Kier of Nasonville; Mrs. Belle Smith of Loyal; Louise, Dorothy and Arlene Korth and Dorothy Kronberger were flower girls. Miles Bradbury was unable to come to his father's funeral. He is in Rochester, Minn., with his wife, who had a serious operation last week and still is in a critical condition. When he can leave he is coming to spend a day with his mother and sister.
