It becomes our sad duty this week to chronicle the death of Mrs. Chas. Buddinger, who died last Friday morning at the hospital at Granton. She had not been suffering any inconvenience until about two weeks ago, when a physician was called, who pronounced her case a tumor, and that she would have to submit to an operation in order to find relief. On Thursday, Sept. 26, she was taken to Granton to the hospital, where on Monday, Sept. 30, the operation was performed by Drs. Lathrop and Mason of Marshfield, and Dr. Schwarz of Granton. One large tumor and nine small tumors were removed. She stood the operation well and seemed to be getting along nicely, until Thursday evening, when she began to show signs of uneasiness, and continued in that state until 2 o'clock, when she rallied and called her husband to her and requested him to kiss her goodbye, when the grim monster death took her away. Emma Fisher was born Aug. 22, 1872, at Waukesha, Wis., and had attained the age of 35 years, one month and twelve days. Aug. 29, 1891, she was married to Chas. Buddinger at Green Bay, Wis., and moved to Clark County on Aug. 22, 1895, where she resided with her husband until her death. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her departure a step-mother, three sisters and two brothers, namely: Mrs. Annie Bartz, Chili; Mrs. Carrie Richter, Brillion; Mrs. Lena Leapling, Menasha; Will and Geo. Fisher, Brillion; all of whom attended the funeral. All that mortal hands could do for the suffering woman was done, but all was in vain as her time had come to reap her reward. She was a kind, loving disposition, a faithful member of the German Methodist Church of Chili, and always did what was in her power to help her friends and neighbors. Her esteem was demonstrated by the large concourse of friends who followed her remains to the grave. Her funeral was held last Sunday afternoon in the M.E. Church, Rev. Mundt, of Marshfield, officiating interment taking place in the cemetery here. The sorrowing husband has requested us to say that he sincerely thanks all those who so kindly assisted him in this sad affliction. The bereft ones have the heartfelt sympathy of all.
