LAST NAME: Kier FIRST NAME: Donald DATE: August 4, 1988 NEWSPAPER: Marshfield News-Herald CITY: Marshfield STATE: Wisconsin TRANSCRIBED TEXT: Donald F. Kier, 86, of 913 N. Central Ave. died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home. Death was due to an apparent heart attack. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hansen Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe F.A. Everett II of Calvary Bible Church will officiate. Burial will be in York Center Cemetery, in the town of York. Connie Koopman will be the organist for Duane Heigerson, soloist. Pallbearers will be grandsons Roger Jameson, Rex Cattanach, Philip, Jeffrey, Gregory, and Steve Kier. Memorials may be given to Calvary Bible Church or the Marshfield Medical Research Foundation for Cancer Research. Visistation will be at the Hansen Funeral Home from 4 - 9 p.m. Thursday, and again on Friday until time of services. He was born Feb. 17, 1902, in Marshfield, to Fred and Hattie Kier. He attended Granton schools. He married Wera M. Edens June 24, 1925, at the home of the bride. She died Jan. 14, 1988. He moved as a child with his parents to Granton. From 1925-29, they lived in Marshfield, In 1929, they moved to Granton to farm. In 1938, they moved to the Nasonville area, whre he worked as a carpenter building cabinets and homes. They moved to Marshfield in 1986. He was member of the Calvary Bible Church. He is survived by three sons, the Rev. Everett L. Kier of LaPaz, Ind., Dr. Milton G. Kier of Barron; and Norbert E. Kier of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Alice) Cattanach of Madison, and Mrs. Ronald (Muriel) Jameson of Thomaston, Maine; one brother, Harold of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Viva) Diercks of Neillsville, and Mrs. Alfred (Neva) Jilly of Downers Grove, Ill.; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, one son Bernard, and five grandchildren. |
