Obit: Baehr, Augusta M. (1862 - 1946)

(2 AUG 1862 - 17 FEB 1946) Final rites were conducted for Augusta Maria Westphal Baehr, 83, from St. John's Lutheran Church at Withee, Clark County, Wis., Wednesday, Feb. 20, by the Rev. Walter Schedler. Interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery. Augusta Maria Westphal Baehr was born in Westpreisen, Germany, Aug. 2, 1862. She came to America July 5, 1883, settling at Dorchester, Clark Co., Wis. with her parents. On March 14, 1886, she was united in marriage to Carl Baehr, also of Dorchester. March 17 of the same year they moved to the town of Hixon on a farm, where she made her home ever since. She passed away in her sleep Feb. 17, 1946, at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 12 days. She leaves to mourn, two daughters and two sons, Clara Zasoba and Emma Rabska, George and Harry Baehr, all of Withee; nineteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was one of the pioneer settlers. Her husband preceded her in death 34 years ago. Pallbearers at the service were: grandsons, Kenneth, Norman, Elmer and Earl Baehr, Howard Rabska and Eldon Zasoba. Flower girls were two granddaughters, Romilda and Elaine Baehr, and Ina Miller and Anita Nevela. Among those from away that attended the funeral services were: Arthur H. Baehr and family, Herbert Baehr, Mrs. Walter Baehr, and Mrs. Elva Wilhelmi of Dorchester; Mrs. Wm. Westphal, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Westphal, and Mrs. Roy Baramucker of Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Westphal, Milan; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pudlas, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krueger, and Mrs. Amelia Neitsch of Curtiss; Mrs. George Beckman, Norbert Baehr of Eau Claire; Romilda Baehr, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rabska, Hayward; Mrs. Johanna Bothke and Mrs. Carl Wiunkel, Rice Lake. |
