Albert Becherer married Louise Fischer in 1866 in Milwaukee Co., Wisconsin.

Albert's profession from the Colby Business Men article in the Jan 19th & 26th 1888 edition of the Colby Phonograph  states that he owned and operated a boot and shoe store on Front St., Colby, Wisconsin.  He was a shoemaker by trade and kept on hand a complete stock of boots, shoes, slippers, and rubbers and attended personally to his repairs.

According to the 1895 Census for Civil War veterans Albert Becherer is on the list as having served in the US Navy.

From a Obit written by the Colby Phonograph on April 23,1891: Becherer Ida  b 17 April 1891 died. Ida, the youngest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Albert Becherer died April 17th,1891. Funeral services held at ME Church, April 19th.

From an Obit written by the Colby Phonograph  dated May 16,1929 :

Mrs. Louise Becherer died last Friday morning of old age and funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran Church. Rev A Kirchhoefer officiated and she was buried in the Colby (Memorial) Cemetery.  She was born April 14,1843 in Sachsen Weimer, Germany. Her parents came to the town of Herman, Sheboygan Co., Wisconsin when she was five years old. In 1866 she

was married to Albert Becherer who survives her. Of eleven children born to them, only four are still living: Bertha in Oklahoma; Wm

Becherer,town of Hull; Louis, also of the town of Hull; and Emma, who is staying at an old folks home in Belle Plains, Minn. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The deceased reached the age of 86 yrs and 26 days.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for many years.  Those from out of town here for the funeral were Bertha Becherer of King Fisher, Oklahoma; Emma Becherer of Belle Plaine, Minnesota; Mr. & Mrs. P. F. Tickhey, Mr. & Mrs. Walter Hingiss, and Edi Hingiss of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She was a faithful member of the church and loved to attend services when health permitted. She was not only faithful to her church, but just as faithful in her Christian duties. She was numbered among the early settlers of this community, whose influence is impossible to estimate.

Funeral services will be conducted at Zion Lutheran Church here at 2 pm Friday for Mrs. William Becherer,76,Colby,who died Tuesday morning in St Joseph's Hospital Marshfield, Wisconsin.  The Rev William Christian will officiate at the rites and burial will be made in Colby Memorial Cemetery.  The body will repose at the Lulloff Funeral Home beginning this evening.

The former Louise Schumacher was born March 1,1883, at Courtland, Minnesota. She married William Becherer in Minnesota. They farmed in North Dakota several years and then came to the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Where they farmed until 15 years ago when they moved to the city of Colby.  Mrs. Becherer is survived by her husband (William C), one son, Willard, town of Hull; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and three brothers, Otto and Albert Schumacher of Minnesota and Ernest Schumacher of North Dakota.
