Military Records of John. H. Booth [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] John H. Booth was born December 22, 1839 at Rhinebeck, New York and married Angeline C. Fertile, daughter of Lewis Fertile and Julia De Rosa, in about 1862. They had seven children, but by the year 1910, only two of the children were still living. John died in 1919, and both he and his wife are buried in the Greenwood Cemetery. He fought as a private in the Great Civil War with Co. H, 11th Minnesota Infantry. He enlisted August 29, 1864 and was discharged June 26, 1865. His next of kin was registered as Alta B. Hartson (granddaughter) of 88 Delano St., San Francisco, California. The information for his Veteran's Grave Registration was provided by H. H. Hartson and John Arends of Greenwood, Clark Co., Wisconsin. He is buried in grave number 2, lot 4 of the "B" section in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Clark County WI, Civil War History 11th Minnesota Infantry
John served as the first sexton of the Greenwood Cemetery.

Longwood Township Pioneers Clark County, Wisconsin LeGAULT marriage 27 Dec 1915 Announcements were received here of the marriage of Harry Booth Palms and Miss Marcia Lucia (Marchie) LeGault, at St. Paul, Minn., on Dec. 27th, 1915. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry LeGault of Longwood. She is a graduate of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1913. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Palms and is a young man with a promising future. The groom left Sunday for St. Paul to make arrangements for a wedding trip to the Pacific coast, and was met there Monday by his bride and mother. The marriage was performed Monday afternoon and the trio left Tuesday for Long Beach, Calif., where W.H. Palms has been the past month. Census Information:
