OBITUARY OF MRS. C. J. BIGELOW (1870-1929)


Annaretta Eunice Loy, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Loy, was born March 6, 1870, at Monroe, Green Co., Wis., and passed away Oct. 14, 1929 at her home at Tioga. Sunday morning, Oct. 13th, she was stricken with paralysis, from which she never rallied.


She came to Neillsville, Clark County with her parents Aug. 10, 1870, where she grew to womanhood and was married to William F. Slover, March 6, 1891. To this union two children were born, Viola, Mrs. Albert Dunn of Greenwood, and Vera, Mrs. Fred Dean of Hixton. Her husband preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1903, and on Nov. 4, 1908 she was united in marriage to C. J. Bigelow, who survives her.


Her only sister, Florence, passed away Feb. 15, 1904. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, her aged mother, her two daughters, her stepson, Ralph, at home, one niece, Mrs. Alfred Lehman of Eau Claire and six grandchildren.


She was a kind and generous neighbor and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need and the kindness shown her in her illness and also throughout her who life testifies to the esteem in which she was held.


The funeral was held at the home in Tioga on Oct. 17th, Rev. G. W. Longenecker of Neillsville officiating. The body was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.


The Misses Agnes Evenson and Alice Dahl and E. L. Ketchpaw of Greenwood sang at the service.
