ERLAND BRAGER KILLED INSTANTLY


Last Wednesday Erland Brager met instant death when the truck on which he was riding was struck by an interurban train. Mr. Brager and his family resided at Waukesha and he was building a home about a mile from there. He, together with Clair Hocket, driver of the truck, were about a fourth of a mile from where they were working when the train struck them.


Mrs. Brager and son Kenneth saw the accident. Mr. Brager was killed instantly and Mr. Hocket was seriously injured. The accident occurred at Spring Dale crossing near Waukesha Wednesday afternoon, May 4, 1932, at 2:00 p.m.


Erland Ula Brager, third son of Albert and Hannah Brager, was born in Grafton, N.D., on July 4, 1901. In 1916 he was confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church at Trempeleau Valley by Rev. S. S. Urberg of Blair, Wis.


On Sept. 22, 1922 he was married to Rachel Clintsman of Greenwood, Wis. Two sons were born to this union, Rollin Edward, Dec. 7, 1923 and Kenneth Charles, July 30, 1926.


He leaves to mourn his early demise, his wife, Mrs. Rachel Brager, his son Kenneth Charles, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Brager of Sechlerville, Wis, three sisters, Mrs. Emil Kinney, St. Louis Partk, Minn., Miss Thora Brager, Sechlerville, Wis., Mrs. Frank Paterson, Alma Center, Wis. three brothers, Joseph and Aaron of Alma Center and James of Sechlerville.


A son Rollin Edward and a brother James Elmer Dewey preceded his in death.


The body was brought here (Greenwood, Clark County) for burial. Funeral services were held from the United Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon, Rev. M. K. Aaberg officiating. The body was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Those from out of town who were here for the funeral, besides the above mentioned, were Mrs. R. Leininger and daughter Vivian, Felix Cornor and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Elmer of Oshkosh.
