Sharron Brandner (1959-2000)


Sharron M. Brandner, 40, Medford, died Wednesday, March 8 at her home.


Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 11 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Rev. Dennis Meulemans officiating. Burial took place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Pallbearers were Brandon Brandner, Todd Waldhart, Bill Alsteens, Leo Wright, Roger Dray, John Fales, Brian Tuma, Dennis Scott, and Jeff Brost.


Hemer Funeral Home in Medford assisted the family with arrangements.


Sharron Brandner was born on December 30, 1959 at Milwaukee to Jerry and Shelby (Vlach) Brandner. She attended Holy Rosary Parochial School in Medford, graduated in 1978 from Medford Area Senior High, and also graduated from North central Technical College in Wausau.


After her education, she moved to Big Springs, Texas, where she worked various jobs for eight years. She then returned to the Medford area and operated the Country Inn Tavern for two years. She then moved to Wausau where she worked for the James River Corporation for four years. She returned to the Medford area again and started and operated Mighty Maids Cleaning Service. In 1997 she purchased the Old Corners Tavern and changed the name to Mustang Sally's, which she operated until the time of her death.


She coached boy's soccer in Texas and was a physical education coach in Dorchester, Clark County, WI for a period of time. She also coached boy's basketball at Holy Rosary School. In 1997 she started the '3 on 3' basketball tournament in Medford. In past years she hosted several charity benefits for various people and organizations.


She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Taylor County Tavern League, and a former member of the Medford Jaycees.


She is survived by her parents four sisters, Cheryl Wright, Cynthia (Roger) Dray, and Colleen (Todd) Waldhart, all of Medford, and Susette (Bill) Alsteens, Bellville two brothers, Dave and Todd (Marlene), both of Medford one grandmother, Irma Vlach, Rib Lake one great-grandmother, Edith Frank, Rib Lake and one step-grandmother, Millie Brandner.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Holy Rosary Catholic School or to a memorial account set up in her name at Mid-Wisconsin Bank.
