G. F. BRAUN DIES AT SHEBOYGAN (1847-1922)

G. F. Braun died at his home at Sheboygan, Wis. early Tuesday morning after a lingering illness of pneumonia.

Mr. Braun was born in Germany April 28, 1847 and was therefore 75 years, 1 month and 22 days of age. In the fall of 1871 he came to America and settled at Sheboygan, where he was foreman of a lime works for five years. In 1876 he came to Greenwood, Clark County and purchased a farm in Braun Settlement, now known as the Woepse place, being one of the first settlers in that vicinity. In 1912 he sold the farm and again moved to Sheboygan, where he resided until death. On March 23, 1889 he was united in marriage to Miss Laura Hessel, the wedding taking place at Braun Settlement.

Deceased was a kind and loving husband and neighbor and was well known and liked by a host of friends. Three who survive him are his wife, three brothers, Chris, Fred and Will Braun and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Horn and Mrs. Frank Horn, all of this city and vicinity.

Funeral services were held at Sheboygan Tuesday evening, Rev. Horstmeir officiating. The body was brought to Greenwood yesterday and Friday afternoon at one o'clock funeral services will be held at the Reformed Church by Rev. Vriesen. Interment will be made in the Braun Settlement Cemetery, this cemetery having originally been started by the deceased many years ago.

Those from away to attend the funeral are Mrs. Litke and Mrs. Rand and grandchild of Milwaukee and Mrs. Hessel of Sheboygan.

The bereaved wife and other relatives have the sympathy of their many friends in this community.
