MRS. BERTHA M. BUKER (1898-1970)


GREENWOOD - Mrs. Bertha M. Buker, 72, Greenwood, Clark County, died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday Aug. 9, 1970 at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient the past six weeks. Previously she was a resident of the Memorial Home at Neillsville since March 6 of this year, following a stroke.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zion United Church of Christ. The Rev. David Logue, pastor, will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home from Tuesday afternoon until 11 a.m. Wednesday, and then at the church.


The former Bertha M. Braun was born in the town of Warner April 20, 1898. Her marriage to George Buker took place at Greenwood Sept. 15, 1922. He preceded her in death April 8, 1968. The couple farmed in the town of Mead. After her husband's death she moved into Greenwood.


Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Emma Speich, in 1953.
