HEART ATTACK CLAIMS LIFE OF MRS. VIVIAN RAAB


An apparent heart attack claimed the life of Mrs. Vivian Raab, 80, of Loyal, Clark County, early Monday morning, June 21, 1976. Robert Lulloff, Clark County Coroner made the ruling after she collapsed at her home about 3:50 a.m.


Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, at the United Methodist Church, Loyal, with the Rev. Eugene Carlson officiating. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery, with Rinka Funeral Home of Loyal in charge.


Mrs. Ruth Zepplin was the organist with Miss Connie Smith offering special music.


Pallbearers were Neil Johnston, Matt Merlak, Roy Ashbeck, Robert Bertz, Celen Gotter and Chester Smith.


Vivian Shupe was born March 17, 1896 in Loyal, the daughter of the late Frank and Julie Emerson Shupe. She received her education at the Loyal School and was married to Jesse Raab on May 16, 1917 at Neillsville.


She worked with her husband in the meat market at Loyal from 1924 until 1946. After that she worked for a number of years for the bakery and at a restaurant.


Mr. and Mrs. Raab celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1967.


Mrs. Raab was a member of the United Methodist Church, Easter Star, Royal Neighbors and was a member of the World War I Auxiliary of Marshfield and the Loyal Legion Auxiliary.


She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.


Surviving are her husband, Jesse, Loyal, two sons, Leland H., Appleton, Wis. and Col. Earl D. (retired), Kensington, Maryland, one daughter, Mrs. Harland (Evelyn) Bergemann, Greenwood two brothers, John, Berlin, Wis. and Glenn, Spencer, and three sisters, Mrs. Ione Baird, Greenwood, Mrs. Lawrence (Nettie) Davel, Loyal, and Mrs. Willard (Elsie) Ziemendorf, Greenwood, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
