Edward Larson (1926-1999)


Edward W. Larson, 73, Ogema, died Sunday, Nov. 28 at his home.


Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at Ogema Baptist Church with Rev. H. David Root officiating.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.


Heindl Funeral Home in Prentice assisted the family with arrangements.


Edward Larson was born June 1, 1926 at Ogema to the late Oscar and Minnie Hoffeditz. Following the death of his mother, he was adopted by Axel and Julia Larson. He graduated from Prentice High School in 1943.


His marriage to the former June Luedke, who survives, took place on November 26, 1949 at the Baptist Church in Ogema. He operated a trucking business for many years, first hauling milk and then forest products. He also operated an agricultural lime business and did excavation work. In 1969 he started a sawmill and pallet manufacturing business, Larson Pallett Co., Inc., which continues to operate in Ogema.


He was a member of the Ogema Baptist Church, an active member of the church's building committee, and a member of the Ogema Area Development Corporation.


In addition to his wife survivors include, three children, Gerald (Sarah), Prentice, Robert (Gayle), Ogema, and Jeanne Larson, Phillips five brothers and sisters, Doris (Walter) Johnson, Ogema, Jeanette Blomberg, Ogema, Calvin Hoffeditz, Walla Walla, Wash., Orville (Arliss) Donaldson, New Holstein, and Lois (Steve) Rued, Curtiss, Clark County, WI three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by, two sisters, Margeret Carlson and Elsie Blomberg one brother, Roy Hoffeditz and one granddaughter, Kelly Ann Larson.
