Anna Volovsek, 99, formerly of Willard, Clark County, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1992, at Neillsville Memorial Home, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 1992, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Rev. Michael Mertens, Rev. Mathew Malnar, and Rev. Richard Bayuk officiated. Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery.


Pallbearers were grandsons Richard Volovsek, Church Volovsek, John Staut, Tony Jeras, Frank Sladich, and Jack Volovsek.
Anna Flis was born April 19, 1893 in Gornji Grad, Slovenia. She received her education in Slovenia. She came to America in October 1912.


She married Frank Volovsek July 25, 1914, in West Allis. They lived in Milwaukee until 1928, and then moved to the Greenwood-Willard area and farmed in the town of Hendren until 1959. She was preceded in death by her husband Jan. 24, 1968. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Mary's; Help of Christians, KSKJ Lodge 174, a charter member of the Slovenian Women's Union Branch 102, Slovenska Druzba of Willard.


Survivors include six sons, Joe Volovsek, Calif. Stanley Volovsek, Willard William Volovsek, Willard Al Volovsek, Greenwood Tony Volovsek, Arizona and John Volovsek, Texas three daughters, Mrs. Vitkor (Mary) Staut, Willard Mrs. Tony (Margaret) Jeras, Ariz. and Mrs. Joe (Betty) Fraid, West Allis 42 grandchildren and 86 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, Frank two daughters, Anna and Elizabeth, in infancy and three great-grandchildren.


Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
