Julia Macik (1918-2000)

Julia A. Macik, 81, Medford, died Friday, March 24 at her home.


Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 28 at First Baptist Church in Medford, with Revs. Charlie Butt, Dan Esterline, and Bill Kramer officiating. Burial took place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers were Erik and Justin Krohn, Ludwig Macik, Ken Burisek, Terry Dassow, and Joe Jelinek.


Hemer Funeral Home in Medford assisted the family with arrangements.


The former Julia Adams was born on July 16, 1918 at Avon, S.D., to the late Theodore and Mabel (Kilpatrick) Adams. She attended Longwood Grade School, graduated in 1936 from Owen High School, Clark Co., WI and in 1942 from Superior State Teachers College. After her education, she taught elementary school at Longwood, Owen, and Greenwood schools.


Her marriage to George Macik, who died July 4, 1976, took place on August 2, 1952 at Owen. After her marriage, she was a homemaker and substitute teacher for the Medford school district until 1972. She then worked at Brennan's Clothing Store in Medford until her retirement.


She was a member of Goodrich Community Church, Town of Goodrich Golden Agers of First Baptist Church and Christian Women's Club of Medford.


Survivors include twin children, Joan (Bill) Krohn, Marshfield and Jon, Medford one brother, Joseph, Medford and two grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth, in her youth, and Marian Miller.
