ROBINSON ANDREWS JOHNSTON BURCH

MRS. MARY ROBINSON DEAD

Death claimed another victim from Greenwood, Clark County when Mrs. Mary Jane Robinson died at nine o'clock Sunday evening, Sept. 23rd, 1906. Mention of her illness was made last week. She had been sick only six days before her death and had been able to sit up in a chair almost every day until Sunday when she felt a little worse. Death came practically without notice, it being from failure of the heart.

Mrs. Robinson was the oldest daughter of Stephen M. and Harriet Andrews and was born in Seymour county, Canada Oct. 23, 1854, making her exactly 51 years and eleven months old when she died. With the family she came to Wisconsin about the first of the seventies, settling first near Tunnel City and later coming to Greenwood. She was married to A. F. Robinson and lived in Huron, S.D. and St. Paul where her husband, a veteran of the Civil war, died about thirteen years ago. For a number of years following his death she kept house for her brother McKenzie (Ken) Andrews at Medford and at Colby until the latter's marriage some four years ago, since which time she made her home with her mother here in Greenwood, her father having died a few years previously.

There are seven brothers and sisters besides the mother living to mourn her departure. These are Mrs. Wm. Johnston of Topeka, Kan., Dudley Andrews of Tomahawk, Mrs. E. T. Burch and Frank Andrews of this city, McKenzie Andrews of Colby, W. Andrews who has been spending the past few months in the Dakotas and Mrs. Albert Shanks of this city. It has been impossible to reach Mrs. Johnston by wire so that she could reach here in time for the funeral. Word was received from William Tuesday that he would come at once for the funeral and it is likely that all the brothers and sisters except Mrs. Johnston will be present at the funeral. This will be held this afternoon at 2 O'clock from the M.E. church and will be under the auspices of the Rebecca lodge of which deceased was a member. She was also a member of the Woman's Relief Corps who will have a part in the ceremony. The sermon will be preached by the Rev. W. T. Hendren.

Deceased was of a quiet reserved disposition and possessed a most kindly nature and she will be missed by many besides the immediate relatives who have the sympathy of the community.
