'TIS DOUBLY SAD

MRS. SARAH RUFINOT DEAD--HER SON LOUIS DIED SUNDAY.

A STROKE OF PARALYSIS TUESDAY EVENING FROM WHICH DEATH RESULTED WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON--WORD RECEIVED WEDNESDAY OF THE DEATH OF LOUIS RUFINOT IN DULUTH, MINN.

The community has been called to mourn an unusually sad affair in the death of Mrs. Sarah Rufinot at her home about four miles south of town. Tuesday evening Eugene, her only son at home, a young lad about fifteen years old, had been up town and on returning home about eight o'clock found his mother prostrate on the ground suffering with what proved to be a stroke of paralysis. Dr. B. P. Churchill was at once summoned and did all that could have been done for relief. She continued unconscious, though having rallied enough to answer a question or two, until four o'clock Wednesday afternoon when death came to her relief.

A sad feature of the case is that Wednesday morning when Eugene came up town to try to telegraph for his brother, Nelson Rufinot, from whom they had not heard since last March, found a letter here from authorities in Duluth informing them that another brother, Louis, who was also with Nelson last winter, was dead there. The condition of his mother made it seem best to have Louis buried there. Thus, the mother never learned of the death of her son. The address of Nelson not being known, he is not aware of either the death of his brother or mother, leaving Eugene to bear this double affliction alone at least for the present. Neighbors and friends are doing everything possible, however, to look after all funeral arrangements. Jas. Syth being in charge. The entire community shares with the bereaved son in his moment of sorrow and he will find in his neighbors more than sympathy.

The funeral will be held from the M. E. church today (Friday) at 10 o'clock and Rev. G. C. Andrews will preach the sermon. The interment will take place in the Greenwood cemetery beside the body of her husband who was killed a few years ago by the bursting of an emery wheel in the old Farming mill near the family home.

Deceased was born fifty-four years ago last April in lower Canada, but has spent most of her life in Wisconsin. She was the mother of several children, only two of whom now survive. Her friends and acquaintances speak of her as a kind neighbor and thoroughly good woman.
