 AN OLD PIONEER GONE


Hugh Shanks, an old pioneer, brother of Dave and John Shanks and father of Albert Shanks, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jack Smith at Hemlock early Friday morning, October 23 at the age of 73 years.


Mr. Shanks has been an invalid for two years, having been confined to his bed since April 1906, when he fell and sprained his ankle.


Mr. Shanks came to Clark County in the early 80's from LaCrosse County. Further mention will be made next week.
