OLD RESIDENT PASSES AWAY

John SPARKS died at the farm residence, in the Town of Sherwood, Clark County Friday last at 3:30 p.m. He had been sick but about ten days with erysipelas, and the end came peacefully.

The funeral was held from the town hall, in Sherwood, Monday of this week. Interment was made in Sherwood cemetery.

Mr. Sparks has been a resident of this section for a good many years. In fact, he has witnessed the development of the Sherwood district to the west of us, arriving there when the country was new and still untouched by the plow. For thirty-five years he has buffeted the ills and tasted the pleasures of this district.

He was born in the state of New York 64 years ago. he came to Wisconsin when still young. He was married at Plainfield and ten children remain with the sorrowing wife to mourn his departure.
