OBITUARY OF ALFRED W. MARVIN


Alfred William Marvin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Seward Marvin, was born in the Town of Eaton, Clark County, Sept. 26, 1898. He attended school in the same township and has resided on a farm all of his life.


He was united in marriage to Miss Esther Vine, Sept. 20, 1924 and to this union were born two sons, Alfred Jr. age 6 and Kenneth Richard, age 4. Their married life has been spent near Greenwood.


Mr. Marvin suffered from heart trouble for many years. He had rheumatism when 12 years old and it left him with a weak heart and the last few years it has been getting worse.


Mr. Marvin passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 1939. He leaves to mourn, his widow, Mrs. Esther Marvin, his two sons, his father, three brothers and three sisters, as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.


Funeral services were held Saturday, May 20, 1939 at 1:45 at the farm home and at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace Methodist Church, rev. C.R. Gaylord officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Mmes. Geo. Haeuser and Harold Stabnow san The Old Rugged Cross at the home and Abide With Me and God Will Take Care of You at the church. Miss Bishop accompanied them at the piano.
The pallbearers were Simon Wehrman, Arley Syth, John Syth, Walter Swieso, Spencer Johnson, Irvin Leach and Robert Zetsche.
The flower girls were Mmes. Arley Syth, John Syth, Walter Swieso and Simon Wehrman.


Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Noah and family, Janesville Mr. and Mrs. Roy Vine, Mrs. Willis Dische, Monroe Mr. and Mrs. Chester Vine, Minticello Hugh Bine, Beloit Mr. and Mrs. John Atkins, Colby Louis Anderson, Broadhead Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Huntley, Miss Ora Davis, Mrs. Dale Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Ricard Hillert, Mrs. John Trimberger, Granton Mr. and Mrs. Merle Bushnell, Owen Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lorenson, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Davis, Neillsville Mr. and Mrs. Paul Youngs, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schoettler, Loyal Miss Jessie Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Tedmarsh, Miss Mary Berger, Algie Vine, Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fravert, Loyal.
