REV. FR. BOECKMANN

The Rev. Father Henry Boeckmann, formerly of this city (Greenwood, Clark County), died at the Pine River Sanitarium at Stevens Point, Sunday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock, after six months of illness.

He was born Sept. 19, 1879 in La Crosse and attended St. Joseph's parochial school during his boyhood years. Later he attended St. Lawrence's college at Mount Calvary, near Fond du Lac, where he spent seven years. For three years, he was a student at St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee.

The Rev. Fr. Boeckmann was ordained a priest at St. Joseph's cathedral in La Crosse, Aug. 7, 1904, six weeks before his 25th birthday. Aug. 14, a week later, he celebrated his first holy mass. For several months he was at home and also assisted at several parishes. In 1905 he was assigned to the Immaculate Conception parish at Alma Center, Wis., where he remained for four years. In 1909 he was transferred as priest to the Immaculate Conception congregation at Greenwood, Wis., where he remained until two weeks prior to Christmas, 1913, when he was forced to resign on account of illness and was taken to the Stevens Point sanitarium for treatment.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Francis Boeckmann, widow of Frank Boeckmann, residing at 912 Badger Street, a brother, Dr. F. A. Boeckmann of Greenwood, and three sisters, Mrs. H. Hoodebeck of Dietrich, Ill., and Misses Irene and Nettie Boeckmann of this city.
The remains were brought late this afternoon to La Crosse for burial.
