OBITUARY OF LOUIS J. JACKSON


Louis J. Jackson was born at Laerdahl, Norway, June 15, 1880. He was baptized and confirmed there, coming to this country when a young man.


March 23, 1907 he was united in marriage to Cecelia Sorenson at Longwood, Clark County. To this union were born eight children, one daughter, Lillian (Mrs. Don Warner) of Greenwood seven sons, Einar, Arnold, Norman, Gordon, Lee, Harold and Lawrence at home. He also leaves to mourn his death, two grandchildren, Norma and Harold Warner of Greenwood his mother, Mrs. Ole Sorenson of Fowler, Col. one sister, Mrs. J. Stalls of Pueblo, Col besides a host of relatives and friends.


Mr. Jackson has been a patient sufferer for a number of years undergoing a serious operation at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls, Friday morning, Dec. 13, 1929, death calling him that evening at 10:45 at the age of 49 years, 6 months and 28 days.
He was, for a number of years, employed with the John S. Owen Lumber Co. at Owen until 1914 when they moved to the present farm they now own at Longwood.


Mr. Jackson was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America for over 30 years, at the time of death he belonged to Black River Camp at Withee, whose members attended the funeral in a body to pay their last respects to a beloved member.


Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 16, 1929 at the home and at 2:00 o'clock at the Lutheran Church at Longwood. Burial was made in the church cemetery, Rev. M. K. Aaberg officiating.


Pallbearers were Marcus Hermansen, Curtiss Emil Larsen and Harold Johnson, Owen A.H. McCarty, Alvin Thorson and Arthur Adnerson of Longwood. Floral offerings were many and beautiful.


Those from away to attend the funeral were Mrs. R. C. Erickson, Neeah, Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Anderson, Stevens Point besides a host of friends from Curtiss, Owen, Withee and Greenwood.
