OBITUARY OF MRS. ED ROHDE

Agnes Rohde
, nee Wehling, was born May 2, 1888 in the Town of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. In early infancy she was baptized in the name of the Triune God and then later in youth instructed in the fundamental doctrines of the Christian religion and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church and thus remained a faithful member of the local church from the day of her baptism until her death.
On June 5, 1912 she was married to Edward Rohde, which union was blessed with three children. After their marriage they located on a farm in the Town of Eaton, where they have since resided.

The deceased will be remembered as a kind and loving wife and mother, a good homemaker, who worked hard and who has many friends who will certainly miss her. About five months ago her health began to fail, suffering from Lymphoma Carcinoma, a form of cancer. She submitted to an operation, hoping to get well, but the dreaded disease for which there seems to be no human help took its course, slowly but surely claiming its victim.

On Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. she was quietly called from this vale of tears to a better world as we have all reason to hope, at the age of 43 years, 5 months and 5 days. The deceased now leaves to mourn her early departure, her sorrowing husband, a son, Gilbert, two daughters, Velma and Alice her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wehling of the Town of Loyal, two brothers, Gustave Wehling of the Town of Loyal, Otto Wehling of Hartford and a sister, Mrs. Harry Nork of Redfield, S.D. besides numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the farm home Sunday afternoon at one o'clock and at the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Loyal at two o'clock, Rev. H. F. Leschezsky officiating. Pallbearers were Geo Jenkins, Emil Fabian, Clarence Fabian, Fred Kocher, Emil Schendel and Hugo Lenz. Interment took place in the Union Cemetery.

Mong those from away who attended the funeral included Mrs. Harry Nork of Redfield, S.D., a sister of the deceased Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wendt and Mrs. W. H. Disher of Milwaukee John Rohde, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rohde, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rohde, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Rohde, and Mrs. Henry Zinermer, all of Juneau, Wis.

The Gleaner joins the many friends of the bereaved in extending sympathy.
