OLD SETTLER PASSES AWAY

Abraham Anson Barr was born in Zorra County, Ontario, Canada, July 7, 1851. He moved to Lapeer County, Mich., in 1865 and other points in the same state where he lived several years, working in the saw mills in summer and lumber camps in the winter. He came to Greenwood, Clark County in 1878 and operated a blacksmith shop on the corner where the Flatz Filling Station now stands, until 1881 when he moved to Thorp, where he again operated a blacksmith shop until 1892, when he moved to the present home where he died April 30, 1931.

He was married to Adelia Fusee in 1874 at Fargo, Mich., who survives him. They were parents of four children, Fred of Becida, Minn., Mrs. Ida Nelson of Owen and Mrs. Nettie Barrett of Thorp. Martha preceded her father in death.

Deceased suffered a stroke of paralysis several years ago and for several months past he has been entirely helpless. Thus to him the struggle and burdens of life are ended and we confidently trust that like one who awakes from a troubled dream, he has awakened to see life's endless morning break and knows himself at home with all that throng of loved ones missed from earth, safe about him.

Funeral services were held at the home at Thorp, Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, many relatives and friends of the sorrowing family were present. Rev. James Irish, M. E. pastor, conducted the services, after which interment took place in the Thorp Cemetery.

Nelson of Boyd Ed Kane and wife of Barron Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Christenson and Mrs. F. A. Riven of Stanley.
