ILLNESS FATAL TO GREENWOOD WOMAN
SERVICES WILL BE HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. JOHN DRUMMOND, 69


Greenwood--Mrs. John Drummond, 69, died at her home here Wednesday afternoon, Mar. 4, 1942 at 2 o'clock after an illness of about two years caused by a stroke.


Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at Grace Methodist Church. The Rev. Alex J. Abbott, assisted by Rev. C.R. Gaylord, Stanley, will officiate at the services.


Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.


Mrs. John Drummond, nee Ida Louis Williams, the eldest of 14 children, was born Mar. 16, 1862, at Necedah, the daughter of John and Ellen Williams. On Jan. 8, 1890, she married John Drummond in Necedah, where they lived and Mr. Drummond operated a store.


About 42 years ago they moved to Greenwood, Clark County, where Mr. Drummond was affiliated with the Big Store and later ran what at the present time is the Clayton Store. They observed their golden wedding anniversary two years ago.


Mrs. Drummond was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was the first worthy matron of that chapter.


Surviving besides her husband, John, is a son, Emil, Minneapolis a daughter, Mrs. Johhn (Vera) Wuethrich, Greenwood and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. E. L. Hindes, Minong Misses Allie and Florence Williams, Chicago L. G. Williams, Chicago John Williams, Santa Cruz, Calif. Emil Williams, Portland, Ore. Robert Williams, Necedah Frank Williams, Waukesha and A. E. Williams, Sparta.


Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Her parents and four brothers preceded her in death.
