WESTCOTT FUNERAL HELD SUNDAY NOON
BURIAL RITES FOR GREENWOOD MAN, 67, ARE HELD AT MILLSTON

Greenwood--Funeral services for Herbert Westcott, 67, who died Friday evening, Dec. 21, 1945, were held Sunday at 12 o'clock noon at the Schiller Funeral Home, Greenwood, Clark County, the Rev. Alex J. Abbott of Grace Methodist Church officiating.

During the service Mrs. Albert Dahl and Mrs. Louis Behrens, accompanied by Mrs. John Meng, sang Rock of Ages , Beautiful Isle of Somewhere , and The Old Rugged Cross.

Pallbearers were Chester and Richard Shields, M. E. Kenyon, O. J. Amundson, and James Mohr, Greenwood, and Celen Gotter, Loyal. After the services the body was taken to Millston for interment in the family lot in the Millston Cemetery.

Herbert Artelle Westcott was born May 15, 1878, on a farm west of Alma Center. He attended school in that community and spent several years in Manistee, Mich., living the remainder of his time in Wisconsin.

In 1910 he came to Greenwood, where he since had been in business. For the past several years he conducted a plumbing shop, which he sold recently. On July 20, 1915, Mr. Westcott, last survivor of 11 children was married to Mrs. May Cheesman.

Surviving besides his widow are a nephew, a sister-in-law, and several nieces.

Mr. Westcott had been in poor health for two years. He underwent an operation for cancer two years ago at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire and was a patient at that hospital in May of this year. In August he was a surgical patient at Wisconsin General Hospital, Madison, after which he returned to his home in Greenwood. Two weeks ago he was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Amundson, Greenwood, where he died Friday evening, Dec. 21 at 8:35 o'clock.

Those who attended the funeral were William Westcott, Alma Center William Kling and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Strowzewski and family, Mr. Strowzewski's mother, Mrs. Tony Rupnick and family, and Mrs. Anna Ketchum, Black River Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Celen Gotter, Loyal.
