AREA RESIDENT DIES AT AGE 84


Greenwood--Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hill Funeral Home here and at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church here, for Joseph Mikottis, 84, of Greenwood, Clark County, who died at 5:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 1971 at the Family Heritage Home, Wisconsin Rapids.


The Rev. Leander Koopman, pastor, will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery. Visitations may be made at the Hill Funeral Home beginning today, and a general rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. today.


Mr. Mikottis was born Sept. 11, 1887 in Yugoslavia, and was married there, Nov. 5, 1910, to Agatha Medveic, who preceded him in death July 15, 1959. The couple came to the United States shortly after their marriage and settled in Joliet, Ill. They came to the Greenwood area in 1913, and operated a farm north of Greenwood until 1954, when they retired and moved into the city.


Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Ann) Johnson, Wisconsin Rapids Mrs. Mary Suda, Milan, Ohio Mrs. Sylvia Warren, and Mrs. John (Martha) Hribar, both of Chicago Mrs. Richard (Betty) Hubner, Harrison, Ill. and Mrs. Thomas (Agatha) Hendrickson, Champaign, Ill. four sons, Stanley, Bensenville, Ill. John, Roselle, Ill. Joseph Jr., Glen Ellyn, Ill. and Adolph Mikottis, Sacrameto, Calif. 28 grandchildren a number of great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. John (Virginia) Fende, Channing, Mich.
