AREA RESIDENT DIES AT AGE 70


Greenwood--Louis Champa Sr., 70, of Willard, Clark County, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, July 10, 1972, at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, where he was a patient for the past six weeks.


Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, with the Rev. Michael Mertens officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.


Visitation may be made at the Hill Funeral Home, Greenwood, Tuesday from noon until 7 p.m. and then the body will be moved to Holy Family Catholic Church where a Mass of the Wake will be offered at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Visitations will follow at the church from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday until the time of services.


Mr. Champa was born Dec. 12, 1901, in Yugoslavia and came to Willard in 1929. He operated a farm near Willard until his retirement in 1932, but had resided on the farm until the time of his death. He was married in Chicago, Nov. 10, 1934, to the former Antonia Lavrich, who survives him.


He also leaves two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Stephanie) Telkas, Chicago and Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Cushman, Racine four sons, Michael, Frank and Louis Jr., all of Chicago and Sylvester, Rochester, Minn. 20 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Zajec, Chicago and Mrs. Angela Slohmaller.
