Cummings, Rue Blanche (1877 - 1962)


GREENWOOD--Miss Rue Blanche Cummings, 85, died of complication Wednesday noon, Oct. 10, 1962, at the Methodist Morrow Home in Sparta.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grace Methodist Church. The Rev. Gene Carlson will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home from Friday evening until 11 a.m. Saturday, when the body will be taken to the church.


Miss Cummings was born Sept. 9, 1877, in Greenwood and received her education in local schools. For a number of years she was employed in the Greenwood Farmers Store and in stores in Chippewa Falls.


She returned to Greenwood, Clark County and resided at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mrs. And Mrs. John Arends until 1956, when she became a resident of the Clark County Home for the Aged here. In 1958 she went to the Sparta home. Miss Cummings was a member of the Grace Methodist Church and its Woman's Society of Christian Service.


She is survived by a brother, Charles Cummings, Tomahawk, and several nieces and nephews. Those in Greenwood are Fred Behrens and Mrs. Harold Blaasch.
A brother and three sisters preceded her in death.
