MRS. JAMES ENGLEBRETSON


Mrs. James (Ila) Englebretson, 73, of Route 1, Willard, Clark County, formerly of Owen, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 3, 1978 at her home.


Services were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 7 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Longwood. Rev. David Wenger officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.


Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, was in charge of arrangements.


The former Ila Salzwedal was born on Aug. 24, 1904 in the town of Beaver, Clark county.


Her first marriage was to Arthur Hendrickson, who passed away in 1940. She married James Englebretson in 1945 and he survives her.


They farmed in the Greenwood area until moving to the Longwood area in 1959. They lived at rural Owen until 1976, when they moved into the City of Owen. She had resided at Willard since early this year.


She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.


Survivors include her husband five sons, Orville Hendrickson of Sturgeon Bay; Rodney Hendrickson of Raleigh, N.C.; Archie Hendrickson of Willard; Henry Hendrickson of Willard; and Jimmie Englebretson of Woodville, Wis.; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Opal) Marciniak of Kimberly; Mrs. James (Arlene) Egan of Kaukauna; and Mrs. Larry (Faye) Lang of Spencer; three stepsons, Bill of Owen, Bob of Eau Claire; and Clayton of Loyal; one step daughter, Mrs. Annabel Chaney of Los Angeles, Cal.; one brother, Ira Salzwedal of Rhinelander; two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Beaulah) Johnson of Rhinelander; and Mrs. LaVern (Violet) Mess of Rhinelander; 29 grandchildren eight great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.


Preceding her in death were her first husband, one brother and two sisters.
