Polzin, Alvin (1907 - 1990)


Alvin Polzin, 83, of Route 2, Neillsville, died at 9:05 a.m., Friday, June 27, at his home.


Funeral services were conducted at Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., Neillsville, on Saturday, June 30, 1990, at 11 a.m. Officiating was Rev. Douglas Bjerke and interment was in the town of Hewett Cemetery. Mrs. Sharon Bjerke provided musical selections. Serving as pallbearers were Carl Nemitz Jr., Larry Polzin, Ray Oldham, Louis Polzin, Randy Polzin and Albert Mohr.


Alvin Polzin was born to Louis A. and Ida (nee Scherbinski) Polzin on May 1, 1907 at Neillsville. He was educated at St. John's Lutheran School in Neillsville.


He and Lucille F. Buchholz were married on March 11, 1944, at Racine. He farmed in Neillsville until he began work at Jacobson's in 1956. He retired from there in 1970. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 556.


Surviving him are four sons, Calvin of Marshfield, Roger of Neillsville, Jerry of Orange Park, Fla. And warren of Neillsville four daughter, Mrs. David (Barbara) Millerman of Barron, Mrs. Frederick (Donna) Wagner of Neillsville, Mrs. Dennis (Linda) Oldham of Neillsville and Mrs. Bonnie Marden of Neillsville one sister, Mrs. Frank (Martha) Gregory of Racine one brother, Ervin of Neillsville and 13 grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were his wife, Lucille, on Jan. 23, 1983 his parents six brothers and four sisters.
