Schoelzel, Nicholas (1982 - 2001)


Nick Schoelzel, 18, Colby, Clark County, died on Saturday, July 7, 2001, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Memorial services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 10, at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby. The Rev. Mark Neumann officiated. Inurnment was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.


Nicholas Ray Schoelzel was born on Aug. 10, 1982, in Marshfield, to Ronald Jr. and Josie (nee Poppe) Schoelzel. He was a member of the 2001 Colby High School graduating class. He was working for R L Custom Woodworking, Dorchester. He was a member of the Colby Volunteer Fire Department. He loved hunting and fishing, playing football, riding his dirt bike, and playing cards with his family and friends. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.


Survivors include his parents, Ron Jr. and Josie Schoelzel, Colby two brothers, Shawn (Mandy Licht) Schoelzel, River Falls, and Eric Schoelzel, Colby his paternal grandparents, Ron Sr. and Ruth Schoelzel, Colby and his maternal grandparents, Bud and Dorine Poppe, Withee.


Community Funeral Home, Colby, assisted the family with arrangements.
