Kobs, Eveline (1914 - 2001)


Eveline Kobs, 87, Colby, Clark County, died on Saturday, July 14, 2001, at the Colonial Center, Colby. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 17, at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby. The Rev. Mark Neumann officiated. Burial was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery, town of Colby.


Eveline Wiersig was born on July 3, 1914, in Colby, to Walter and Amelia (nee Dins) Wiersig. She graduated from Colby High School. She married Norman Kobs on May 30, 1958, at Zion Lutheran Church. He died on Oct. 9, 1994. She worked for Marathon Electric in Wausau and as a secretary for an insurance agency in Colby. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its ladies aid.


Survivors include one sister, Erma Johnson, Wilmette, Ill. three brothers, Raymond Wiersig, Manitowoc, Lenhart Wiersig, San Diego, Calif., and Donald Wiersig, Bryan, Texas 14 nieces and nephews, Ruth Schoelzel, Richard Wiersig, Janice Shortt, Connie Raatz, Lynn Villarreal, Jill Leff, Bonnie Wehrenberg, Wayne Johnson, Diane Maison, James Wiersig, Ann Gordon, Jon Wiersig, Jean Wolff, and Jeremy Wiersig.


She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Norman Kobs and one brothers, Arthur Wiersig.


Community Funeral Home, Colby, assisted the family with arrangements.
