Falconer, Earl E. (1918 - 2001)


Earl E. Falconer, 83, Loyal, Clark County, died on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, in the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, at York Center United Methodist Church. The Rev. Neil Piepenburg officiated. Burial was in the Loyal City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Falconer, Vern Hanish, Jim Elsinger, Lyle Hill, David Collinson and Jim Hill. Honorary pallbearers were Lyle Verhulst, John Sheean, Gene Zawadzki, Donald Stage and Tony Schecklman.


Earl Elmer Falconer was born on March 2, 1918, in Cherry Valley, Ill., to Elmer and Anna (nee Rutz) Falconer. He attended school in Illinois. He helped on the family farm and also worked as a carpenter. He married Vada Mae Collinson in Belvidere, Ill. They farmed in the town of York and he also worked as a milk hauler and cheesemaker. In 1974, the couple moved to Loyal and he drove bus for the Loyal and Neillsville school districts. He retired in 1986. He was a family-oriented man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, gardening and square dancing. He was a member of the York Center United Methodist Church and the Loyal American Legion Post 175.


Survivors include his wife, Vada Falconer, Loyal two children, Elaine Falconer, Marshfield, and Larry (Kathy) Falconer, Marshfield three grandchildren, Becki (Vern) Hanish, Marshfield, Heather Falconer, Rib Lake, and Jeffrey Falconer, Marshfield one great-grandson, Nicholas James Eisner, Rib Lake two sisters, Marie Hill, Rockford, Ill., and Doris (John) Sheean, Yuma, Ariz. and many nieces and nephews.


Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal assisted the family with arrangements.
