SOREN LARSEN
 

Soren Larsen, 90, Neillsville, Clark County, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1993, at his home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1993, at 2 p.m. at the United church of Christ, Neillsville. Rev. Ron Selzleni of Christie United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Francis Dooley, Douglas Larsen, William Opelt, Floyd Dooley, Dennis Larsen, and Louis Zschernitz.


Soren Larsen was born Dec. 9, 1902, in Denmark, to Ole and Sidsel (nee Henricksen) Larsen. He received his education at Fairview School in South Dakota, and in the town of Sherwood, Clark county. After school, he worked at home until age 18, when he moved back to South Dakota, where he farmed and ranched until 1933. He married Emma Fees Aug. 30, 1927, in Cottonwood, South Dakota. She survives. He returned to this area and farmed for many years. He worked for Svetlik Motors in Neillsville for 19 years and later worked for the county for several years as a mechanic. In 1960, he and his wife purchased the Larsen Lakeside Supper Club (now the Riviera Supper Club at Hatfield), and operated it until 1966, at which time they semi-retired. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Neillsville.


Survivors include his wife Emma, Neillsville one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Schultz, Greenwood three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Elmer, St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. Reuben (Marie) Aasen, Cottage Grove Mrs. Inger Farris, Sacramento, Cal. one half-sister, Mrs. Sadie Cahill, Chicago, Ill. one half-brother, Oscar Larsen, Chicago, Ill. seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.


He was precede in death by his parents, two daughters (Lois Marg and one infant daughter), three brothers, and one sister.
Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., handled the arrangements.
