Cerne, Mike (1899 - 1980)


Mike Cerne, 81, of Route 1, Willard, Clark County, who has been residing at the Memorial Home, Neillsville, for the past two years, died at about 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, 1980, at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.


Funeral services will be conducted at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12. Burial will follow in the Willard Cemetery.
Visitations will be after 3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the funeral home.


Mike Cerne was born on Sept. 29, 1899 in Germany. He attended schools in Europe for four years and in Kansas for four years.


He came to the United States in 1910 with his parents and settled in Kansas. In 1920, he came to Wisconsin and farmed in the Town of Hendren until retiring in 1966. He was never married.


He was a member of the SNPJ Slovanian Lodge.


Surviving him in death were his parents and one brother Joe.


Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, is handling the arrangements.
