Moldenhauer, Hermina (1892 - 1981)


Hermina Moldenhauer, 88, formerly of the Greenwood, Clark County area, who was living in Milwaukee, died on Wednesday morning, March 4, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee.


Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 7, at Immanuel United Church of Christ. Officiating was Rev. Alwyn York. Leroy Fravert, Harvey Goeke, Phillip Vollrath, Walter Decker, Roger Schwarze, Orville Schwarze and Alvin Wehrman served as pallbearers, and interment was in the West Side Cemetery.


Hermina Hoesly was born on April 9, 1892, in New Glarus to the late Thomas and Elisabeth (nee Kundert) Hoesly and received her education at Stratford School.


Before her marriage she worked for Connor Co. at Stratford for many years.


She married Richard Moldenhauer in Stratford on Feb. 3, 1919.


They moved to the Town of Warner where they owned the Moldenhauer Cheese Factory from 1926 - 1940. In 1940, they moved to Cincinnati and managed a cheese factory. In 1954, they moved to the Town of Warner where they farmed.


After her husband's death in 1963, she moved to Milwaukee and lived with her daughter.


She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood, and its Ladies Guild.


Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Alice) Killian of Milwaukee; one son, Raymond of Springfield, Ill.; four grandchildren one great-grandchild, Matthew.


Preceding her in death was her husband one daughter, Dr. Ruth Moldenhauer two brothers and four sisters.


Rinka Funeral Home handled arrangements.
