Millard, Iva (1886 - 1981)


Services for Iva Millard, 95, formerly of Loyal, Clark County, who has been residing at Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville, were at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal.


Mrs. Millard died at about 2:35 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1981, at Memorial Home, Neillsville.


Officiating at the service was Rev. frank Mutchler. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.


Iva Clauson was born to Robert and Lude (nee Newkirk) Clauson on Aug. 3, 1886, at Mauston, Wis. She was educated at Mauston Public Schools.


She married Vernon Millard on March 20, 1906, at New Lisbon. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1956.


After their marriage they farmed at New Lisbon until moving to the Town of York, Clark County, in 1916. They farmed there until 1942, when they moved to the City of Loyal.


She was a member of the United Methodist Church, WSCS and Royal Neighbors of America.


She had been a resident of Memorial Home, Neillsville, since 1971.


She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Louise Smith of Loyal, Miss Irene Millard of Madison and Mrs. Orelle (Ardis) Paulson of Willard one son, Verland Millard of Granton 11 grandchildren 28 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.


Preceding her in death was her husband, on May 16, 1960 one son in infancy three grandsons one great-grandson three sisters two brothers and her parents.


Lynne, Richard and Duane Paulson, Verna A. Smith, Ricky Millard and Chris Smith, all grandsons, served as pallbearers. Rinka Funeral Home handled arrangements.
