Bukovec, Louise (1883 - 1981)


Louise Bukovec, 98, Route 1, Willard, Clark County, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 18, 1981, at Memorial Home, Neillsville.

Services were at 12 noon, Saturday, Nov. 21, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Officiating was Rev. James Lesczynski. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Louise Sterbance was born on June 11, 1883, in Yugoslavia. She received her education in European schools.

She was married to Joseph Bukovec on Jan. 26, 1901, at Ely, Minn.

She came to Ely, Minn. in 1900. After her marriage, they lived in Ely for nine years, then moved to Willard, where hey farmed in the Town of Hendren. They were among the first pioneers in Willard. After her husband's death on June 12, 1965, she moved to the Village of Willard. She has been living at Memorial Home, Neillsville, for the past four years.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the KSKJ Slovian Lodge.

She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Mary Rozich of Willard, Mrs. Catherine Schmiel of Cicero, Ill., Mrs. Leo (Margaret) Winiecki of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Charles (Ann) Brunke of Cicero, Ill., Mrs. Emily Knepper of Hillside, Ill. and Mrs. Selvian (Vicki) Krultz of Greenwood three sons, John of Chicago, Albert of Greenwood and Edward of Willard 26 grandchildren 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A Prayer Service was conducted at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20. Pallbearers were George Plautz, Richard Bukovec, Gary, David, Ralph and Edward Krultz. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, handled arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one daughter and one sister.
