MARY PEKOL
 

Mary A. Pekol, 85, formerly of Willard, Clark County, died Wednesday, July 26, 1995, at Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville.


Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 1995, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Father Richard Dickman and Father Michael Mertens officiated. Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery.


Pallbearers were Greg Pekol, Kent Pekol, Daniel Pekol, Kevin Hagen, Allan Langreck and Richard Rakovec.


Mary A. Rakovec was born on May 1, 1910, in Yugoslavia, to Joseph and Antonia (nee Zorko) Rakovec. She came to America with her parents in 1912 and settled in the Willard area.


She received her education at West Eaton School near Willard. After her education, she worked in the Milwaukee area as a nanny and housekeeper. She married Frank Pekol on July 18, 1934, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard.


They farmed in the Town of Seif until Oct. 1969, when they retired and moved into Willard. Her husband died on Jan. 10, 1977. She resided in Willard until entering the nursing home in Jan. 1995. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its PCCW the Druzba Club and officer of K.S.K.J. 174 and a member of the Merry Homemakers Club.


Survivors include one son, Frank (Janice) Pekol, Neillsville one daughter, Margie (Richard) Hagen, Neillsville nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband her parents one daughter, Angeline and five brothers.


Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
