Fenske, Herbert (1923 - 1982)


Funeral service for Herbert Fenske, 59, of Chili, Clark County, who died at 5 p.m., Friday, April 10, 1982, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, were at 1 p.m., Monday, April 12, at Grace Lutheran Church, Nasonville.

Mr. Fenske had been admitted to the hospital on Feb. 22.

Officiating at the service was Rev. Dale E. Freberg. Burial was in the Yolo Cemetery in the Town of Fremont.

Herbert Fenske was born at Menasha on Feb. 16, 1923. He came to the Town of Fremont at an early age.

He was married to Idora Kleinschmidt on June 10, 1944, at Nasonville. After their marriage, they farmed in the Town of Fremont and worked for Berg Pontiac until 1978, when he retired due to poor health.

He was a veteran of World War II, was secretary of Southern Clark County Sportsmen's Club from 1956-1969, and since had been president.

He had been clerk of the Town of Fremont, a member of the Chili fire Department, a member of the Loyal American Legion, Post 175, a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Nasonville and a member of Mueller-Hintz Post 1866 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Marshfield.

Surviving him are his wife three daughters, Mrs. Doreen Schmidt of Granton, Mrs. Thomas (Judy) VanElzen of Appleton and Miss Linda Fenske, Spencer and three grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were two brothers.

Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, handled arrangements.
