Seefeld, Walter L. (1911 - 1982)


Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 27, at Spencer United Methodist Church for Walter L. Seefeld, 71, of Unity.

Mr. Seefeld died at Colby Clinic on Friday, Sept. 24, 1982.

Officiating at the service was Rev. Charles Strong. Burial was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery, with Duane Meacham, Virgil Seefeld, Wayne Scheer, Jerome Fischer, David Wescott and Lyle DuVall serving as pallbearers. Rux Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Walter Seefeld was born on June 4, 1911, in the Town of Unity, Clark County. He was educated at Grove Side School in the Town of Unity.

On April 8, 1922, at Unity, he and Ida DuVall were married. They farmed in the Spencer area until 1952, when they moved to Park Falls. They farmed in the Town of Unity from 1963 until retiring in 1971, when they moved into the Village of Unity, where he worked part-time for the Village.

He was a member of Spencer United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife one son, Neil of Loyal three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank and Maggie (nee Meacham) Seefeld one son one daughter and one brother.
