Schofield, Belle (1893 - 1983)


Funeral services for Mrs. Lee (Belle) Schofield, 89, of Wabasha, Minn., were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 1983, at Spencer United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Schofield died at Wabasha Nursing Home on Saturday, April 2, 1983.

Officiating at the service was Rev. Charles strong. Burial was in the West Spencer Cemetery. Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, handled arrangements.

Belle Hulce was born in the Town of Unity, Clark County on Oct. 15, 1893, to Fredrick and Effie (nee Beach) Hulce. She received her education at Unity High School in Marathon County, and Normal School in Wausau.

She taught at Groveside School in the Town of Unity. She married Lee Schofield on Dec. 19, 1914, at Schofield. They lived in the Town of Unity. She entered the nursing home at Neillsville in 1973.

She was a member of Spencer United Methodist Church.

Surviving her are seven daughters, Mrs. Flossie Sook of Schofield, Mrs. Nola Seefeld of Unity, Mrs. Betty Fischer of Unity, Mrs. Rosair (Jeanne) Murray of Iron Mt., Mich., Mrs. Howard (Vera) Smith of Camp Douglas, Mrs. Orval (Beulah) Washkuhn of Cudahy and Miss Myrna Schofield of Hazelhurst one son, Raymond of Spencer 25 grandchildren 36 great-grandchildren one brother, Harold Hulce of Weatherford, Texas and one sister, Mrs. frank Fink of Plains, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in Sept. 1970 one son one daughter her parents four grandchildren five brothers and two sisters.
