Mary Carl, 96, Neillsville, Clark County, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 1995, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 28, 1995, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Neillsville. Pastor John Brouwer officiated. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Kosmosky, Roger Kosmosky, John Bergemann, Herman Carl, Francis (Butch) Carl and Donald Carl.


Mary Kosmosky was born on Feb. 20, 1899, in St. Charles, Minn., to Martin and Agnes (nee Drabinsky) Kosmosky. She received her education in the Shortville School and graduated from Neillsville High School. She also received a teaching certificate when she graduated. She taught school in the Autobond School in Sherwood, Hewittville School and Pine Valley Mound School. She married Arthur A. Carl on May 7, 1921, in Neillsville. After their marriage, she was a homemaker. She was very active in the United Methodist Church and in the Red Cross during World War II. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.


Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marian (Sam) Ray, Neillsville and one granddaughter, Sherri (Joe) Giordano, Portland, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, on Jan. 29, 1974 three brothers and two sisters.
Gesche Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
