Schroeder, Freda (6 NOV 1900 - 22 JUN 1985)


Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 1985 for Freda Schroeder, 84, formerly of Loyal, Clark County. She died Saturday, June 22, 1985 at the Neillsville Memorial Home.

Rev. Joseph R. Kraly officiated the services at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews, Herman Luepke, Russel Gehrke, Gordon Mellenthin, Wilbur Mellenthin, William Rahm and Munson Vanderhoff Jr.

She was born Nov. 6, 1900 in the Town of Sherman to Albert and Hannah (nee Priebe) Schroeder. She received her education at Griffith in the Town of Sherman. She was employed by the Loyal Canning Company for 11 years and then worked for the Owen Canning Co. She also worked for the Indian Trail restaurant in Evanston, Ill. for 30 years. In 1975 she moved back to Loyal and lived with her brother, Roy Schroeder, where she raised and sold different varieties of perennial flowers. She spent the past eight years at the Neillsville Nursing Home.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two brothers, Roy Schroeder, Loyal and Bert Schroeder, Oroville, Calif. one sister, Mrs. Walter (Linda) Krohn, Loyal.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.

Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
