ROBERT RECKNER


Robert Leonard Reckner, 57, Greenwood, formerly of Spencer, died Monday, Aug. 19, 1996, in the Town of Warner, Clark County. Funeral services were held at noon on Friday, Aug. 23, 1996, at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel, Marshfield. Rev. Robert S. Wilcken, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Thorp, officiated. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Pallbearers were grandsons, Greg Melander and Steve Reckner, his cousin, Virgil Reckner, and friends, Verlyn Schalow, Ronald E. Griepentrog and Richard Baierl.


Robert Leonard Reckner was born on Dec. 5, 1938, in the Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, to Herman P. and Bernice E. (nee Nickel) Reckner. He received his education at Wescott Elementary School in the Town of Eau Pleine and Stratford High School, graduating in 1957. He married Jane E. Sauter on May 23, 1959, in Stratford. She Survives. He was employed for various businesses in the area until his employment with Felker Bros. Corp. on Sept. 4, 1963, where he was a fabricator of stainless steel products until the present time. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Thorp, United Brotherhood of Boilermakers, local 697 Whitetails Unlimited and Mead Lake Club President Rowdy Bay . He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting.


Survivors include his wife one son, Jeff (Linda) Reckner, Spencer two daughters, Pam (Ray) Melander, Merrill and Cindy (Chuck) Pescinski, Spencer grandchildren, Greg, Sarah and Holly Melander, Steve and Stacy Reckner, and Beth and Nicole Pescinski one sister, Shirley (James) Paap, Fremont, Ohio three brothers, Jim (Pat) Reckner, Spencer Kenneth (Paulette) Reckner, Marshfield and Jerry (Sandy) Reckner, Milwaukee his mother and step-father, Bernice E. and Tony F. Yakaites, Marshfield and his father-in-law, Jerome F. Sauter, Stratford.


He was preceded in death by his father.


Memorial may be given in his name to the family as they will establish a memorial at a later date.


Rembs/Kundinger Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
