Marion Gene Herrick, 62, Willard, Clark County, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 1996, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the church.


Marion Gene Kirn was born on Aug. 29, 1934, in Willard, to Martin and Jennie (nee Romosh) Kirn. She received her education at North Mound Grad School in the Town of Mead Greenwood High School, graduating in 1952 and three years of nursing school at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. She then went to work at the VA Hospital in Tomah. She married Robert C. Herrick on June 20, 1959, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. He preceded her in death in June 1996. In 1959, she went to work at the Neillsville Hospital until 1992. She then worked at the Marshfield Clinic until her death. She was dedicated to her work and enjoyed gardening. She was the treasurer for the Town of Mead for 10 years, a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Slovenian Druzba Club, and taught CPR for the American Heart Association.


Survivors include three sons, Gregory (Sandy) Herrick, Willard Scot (Jane) Herrick, Willard and Steven Herrick, Willard four grandchildren, Charles , Roberta, Jackie and Ed and three brothers, Donald (Donna) Kirn, Willard Roger (Yvonne) Kirn, Willard and Ken (Sharon) Kirn, Willard.


She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.


Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
