ALICE PREBIL


Alice L. Prebil, 89, Boyceville, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996, at Myrtle Werth Hospital-Mayo Health Systems in Menomonie. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, 1996, at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood. Father Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial was in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Willard, Clark County.


Alice L. Klancher was born on June 16, 1907, in Ely, Minn., to Frank and Frances (nee Tomzich) Klancher. She married Frank Prebil on Jan. 15, 1927, in Chicago, Ill. They owned and operated Frank's Tavern in Willard until 1949. They moved out to a farm and farmed for a couple of years and then moved to Granton and owned a bar until 1954. They moved to Boyceville in 1954 and owned and operated Gales Store until 1960. In 1955, she owned and operated the Deluxe Caf until 1961. She then went to work for Sandy Lee's in Menomonie until retiring in 1979. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, flowers and baking.


Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy (William) Petkovsek, Willard Virginia (Frank) Himes, Woodland Hills, Cal. and Sandra (John) Herdahl, Spooner one son, Dick (Kathy) Prebil, Willard one brother, Tony (Frances) Klancher, New Berlin one sister, Frances Deutsch, Oakland, Ill. 15 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.


She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1960 her parents one sister, Mary and five brothers, John, Paul, Frank, Adolph and Albert.
Everts Funeral Home, Glenwood City, assisted the family with arrangements.
