Slater, William (1817 - 1 MAY 1887)

Died, at the residence of his son in Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., Sunday evening, May 1st, 1887, Mr. Wm. Slater, aged 69.

Mr. Slater was well known to the people of Neillsville as an old soldier, and his familiar form was to be seen on the street every day. He had just received an increase of pension from $10 to $21 a month, but he could not live to enjoy it. He was only confined to the house a few days.
